今はまだ見えない小さな想い

Ode to Expressiveness
Which tone, color, or shape
will the sprouting of
my heart’s expression have?
Although it has not yet formed itself,
it eagerly awaits its moment to blossom.
It may have the form of a musical score
and become flowing music.
It may have the form of language
and become a resonating tale.
I want to express all of myself,
not only my happiness, but also my sadness.
I want to express completely why I sing.
Now that I have found my passion,
I wonder what dreams and hopes, what true self,
my passion will reveal.
It may cause my body to act
to create something new,
Whose shape and color
might move your hearts.
I want you to know that I am here.
My expressiveness and passion might bloom
someday into hopes for someone.
I want to express all of myself,
not only my happiness, but also my sadness.
I want to express completely why I shine forth.

「想いが、今」によせて (初演時のプログラムノートより)
本楽曲は今大会の主題「伝える幸せ、伝わる幸せ、未来にいきるわたしの音楽」をもとに「自分の想いを表現し誰かに伝えること」を核として作詞作曲された吹奏楽伴奏の混声三部合唱曲です。ピアノ伴奏や同声二部合唱でも演奏可能な編成になっています。表現力の重要性は、より自分と違う人々と接する機会が増えるグローバル化社会において益々高まっています。この楽曲が、表現の喜びと力を自分の中から見つけ出す手助けになればと幸いです。

about the Commission and the Premiere
This work was commissioned for the 2014 Chugoku-Shikoku Music Education Conference, Ehime, and the premiere was given at the Conference by the Joint Chorus and Wind Symphony on Nov. 16, 2014 (Ehime, Japan).

この楽曲は中国・四国音楽教育研究大会2014愛媛大会の委嘱作品で、初演は同大会にて合同合唱団・吹奏楽楽団により2014年11月16日に行われました。
