天辺への道
道は そこで終わり 未知が広がる
天辺の見えないあの山目指し
思った 道をつくろうと
草を刈り 岩をのぞき 土をならす
天辺の見えないあの山夢み
語った ここで 友たちと
あの日 遠き地で 一人歩いた道
時に踏みしめられた石畳を
ふと 思い出した
道端の花を優しくゆらす風の
駆け上がっていく その先に
あの山の天辺を見た気がした

The Road
The road ended here, and the unknown spread out before me.
To the mountain whose summit I could not see
I decided to make a road.
Cutting the grass, removing the rocks, and leveling the ground…
Dreaming of the mountain whose summit I could not see,
I talked with my friends here.
However, I remember the day when I have walked alone there
In a faraway land on a stone-paved road,
Trod down and hard-worn by time...
Yet here, in a gust of soaring wind,
Gently swaying a flower beside the road,
I might have seen the summit of the mountain.

（初演時のノートより）
本楽曲「天辺への道」は、無伴奏混声四部合唱のための楽曲です。日本合唱指揮者協会五十周年ための委嘱作品として、新しい道を切り開いていった先人達と、そして、これからも私達が目指し続けていく芸術の山の高みを想いながら、作詞・作曲させていただきました。次は百年。沢山の方々の想いを受けて、友と共に、一歩一歩誠実に。
about the Commission and the Premiere
This work was commissioned by the Japan Choral Directors Association and its Sasa Foundation. The premiere performance was given by the Choral LAb at the 14th Hokutopia Choral Festival on June 9, 2013 in Tokyo, Japan.

この楽曲は日本合唱指揮者協会・佐々基金委嘱作品で、20１3年6月9日、第14回北とぴあ合唱フェスティバルにて合唱団LAbにより初演が行われました。
